| Air-Tight Dampers:
Air-Tight dampers are used to manually or automatically seal off the intake and /or exhaust air ducts in a negative air pressure cleanroom facility. The Air-Tight Dampers are normally used in a BSL level P - 3 or P - 4 bio- safety / bio-containment clean labs. to isolate this facility during shutdown, or if a bio-hazard accident occurs. There are 3 styles of air-tight dampers; single mechanical seal, double mechanical seal and pneumatic air seal. The pneumatic seal can be manually or automatically inflated.
A) Single Seal - Manual or Motor Driven
Single air-tight dampers are installed on BSL P-3 & P-4 bio-safety clean labs. to seal off and isolate total intake and exhaust air as well as individual room intake and exhaust air. These dampers provide a "Bio-Air-Seal".
B) Dual Seal - Manual or Motor Driven
Dual seal air- tight dampers are used for applications where there might be a possibility for single seal failure due to high air pressure or severe bio-hazard consequences.
C) Air Inflatable Pneumatic Seal - Manual or Automatic
Air inflatable pneumatic seals are used on large dampers where manual or automatic closing is not feasible. Pneumatic seals are also used on air-tight doors where normal flexible seals are not acceptable. |
